The curves of the magnet thus follow the contour of the vessel\u2019s base, resulting in more uniform stirring and improved fluid dynamics.<\/p>\n<p>The stir bar is used in conjunction with magnetic stirrers \u2013 often combined with a heating jacket or hotplate \u2013 where a rotating magnetic field beneath the vessel causes the stir bar to rotate within the liquid, thereby ensuring effective mixing, dissolution or temperature equalisation.<\/p>\n<h4>Choose the right stir bar size<\/h4>\n<p>To prevent inefficient stirring in your vessel, the length of the drive magnet in the stirrer and the stirring magnet must be approximately the same. Furthermore, the distance between the drive magnet and the stirrer\u2019s magnet must be as small as possible.<\/p>\n<p>If you are working with viscous liquids, it is advisable to use extra-strong magnets.
