The 25 ml centrifuge tube is a conical centrifuge tube with a screw cap. There has long been a need for a tube larger than 15ml and smaller than 50ml – and the 25ml centrifuge tube provides the solution. The tube is ideal for general sample preparation, mixing, centrifugation and storage.
The 25ml tube has the same diameter as the 50ml centrifuge tube but is 33% smaller. The reduced size results in lower shipping costs, less plastic waste and reduced storage space usage. In addition, the tube size helps for faster dissolution of pellets and 100% recovery of small samples.
The risk of cross-contamination from accidental contact between the pipette and the inner wall is eliminated by the tube’s low profile and wide diameter format.
