Microtubes for light-sensitive samples
Our dark 1.5 ml micro tubes are disposable tubes made of robust polypropylene (PP), specifically designed for handling light-sensitive samples and reagents. These microcentrifuge tubes are ideal for preparing, mixing, centrifuging, transporting and safely storing samples. The dark amber or black colour protects the contents from UV light and minimises the risk of samples degrading or changing during storage and processing. This saves you from having to wrap your clear tubes in tin foil to prevent your samples from being affected by UV rays.
Amber or black micro tubes are especially suitable for training, routine and research laboratories in areas such as life sciences, industry and chemistry where samples that are sensitive to light are handled.
All tubes have a smooth inner surface to minimise protein binding from samples and they are all opaque. They have snap cap lids that can be easily opened and closed with one hand.
With a centrifugation capacity of up to either 20,000 x G or 30,000 x G, the tubes are ideal for high speeds, ensuring reliable results during centrifugation. They are all RNase, DNase and DNA free, making them suitable for applications where high purity and precision are required.
