Biopsy cassettes for the pathology lab
Biopsy cassette Histosette is a cassette moulded from acetal and keeps biopsy samples safely immersed in liquid. It contains 1 large compartment and is used for manual identification of cassettes. The biopsy cassette is resistant to the chemical effects of most histological solvents. The efficient flow-through holes in these Histosette biopsy cassettes maximise fluid exchange and ensure proper drainage. The smart integrated one-piece lid eliminates the need for separate steel lids. The lid simply separates and locks into the base of the cassette.
Easy labelling of the Histosette
There’s an external writing area at a 30° angle that makes it easy to write on, so you can identify the biopsy cassette.
Specifications for Histosette biopsy cassettes
- Application: Used for storing, handling and processing tissue samples from biopsies. These cassettes ensure that tissue samples undergoing histological analysis are kept safe during fixation, processing and sectioning.
- Design: Histosette has 1 large compartment with small 1 mm square holes that allow fluid to enter but are fine-meshed enough to keep tissue samples securely in place.
- Function: These cassettes are used in processes such as fixation, dehydration and paraffin embedding, where the tissue needs to be chemically treated without being damaged or disappearing.
